MbC’s 72 Cyclists ride for 72 minutes on the 72nd Independence Day
MANGALURU: The members of city’s elite cycling unit, Mangalore Bicycle Club (MBC), gathered in front of MCC to pay their tribute to the nation on the 72nd Independence Day. The club came up with an unique idea of involving 72 cyclists to ride for 72 minutes.
All riders displayed Indian tri-colour on their bicycles. Coming together in such a big gathering to commemorate the event which happened 72 years ago was a big boost for rest of the day and will be remembered for ever, said Ganesh Nayak, General Secretary of the club.
MbC’s special ride was graced by the presence of Captain Rajaneesh Linekaje, Indian Army, accompanied by his father Ramakrishna Linekaje, who joined the group to share this occasion with them on a short notice. Captain Rajaneesh is a passionate cyclist himself with several cycling expeditions to his credit.
Participants from Business Network International, led by its Regional Director Ganesha Sharma also joined today’s ride that saw young and old pedal together to transform this unique idea into reality.
